Coptic binding
In this workshop you will learn the art of Coptic binding, a special technique with which you can make a notebook that opens beautifully flat. This makes it ideal for drawing or writing. During the workshop you will work step by step with the technique and make your own unique book.
The workshop is suitable for both beginners and advanced students. At the end of the session you will go home with a handmade notebook and all the knowledge to continue binding at home!

Meditative bookbinding
This summer I will be giving the workshop “Meditative Bookbinding”. In the workshop you will be introduced to various techniques. We will start with a Japanese bound book, then a book with chain-stitch binding, for which we will use handmade paper. We will also make a book with a long-stitch binding, with a cover of recycled fabric. Together we will discover the technique by being busy, deepening and creating.
In between we enjoy a delicious vegetarian lunch.
Whether you are a beginner or have some experience, this workshop is for everyone. At the end of the day you will go home with three beautiful, handmade booklets and all the knowledge and inspiration to continue binding at home!

About the workshops

Once the workshop is confirmed in the mail, your spot is reserved. The week before the planned date I will contact you with a few more details for your participation.
If there are insufficient registrations, the workshop will be postponed.
We work in small groups, so there are only a few places available per workshop. If you can no longer participate, someone else can take your place. Cancel at least 24 hours before the start of the workshop.
All materials are provided. If you want to bring your own paper, please bring it in A4 format and no thicker than 200 grams.
